Finnish to Dutch: Newspaper article on the price of grain General field: Other Detailed field: Agriculture
English to Dutch: Speech by Björn Rönnerstrand at Antibiotics For Life Event in Helsinki 2022 General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical (general)
Source text - English With regard to the role of corruption in antibiotic resistance, the former Romanian Health Minister, Vlad Voiculescu, has said: “Corruption generated antibiotics resistance! In societies where there is corruption, rules are broken, therapy guides and protocols are not respected, pharmaceutical drugs are released without prescription, measures to isolate patients infected with multi-resistant germs are not respected.” A study on the correlation between regulatory conditions and antibiotic consumption within the WHO European Region by Mueller and Östergren (2016) has shown that “regulatory aspects may very well be only existent on paper but not properly implemented at all, or the adherence to specific aspects might not be enforced.” This makes the option of corruption regarding antibiotic resistance conceivable. A study by Collignon et al. (2015) confirms this link. It shows that there is a clear correlation between antibiotic resistance and corruption.
Finnish to English: Neste work instruction on the identification of wear metals in used lubricants General field: Science Detailed field: Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Translation - English The procedure applies to monitoring used lubricants, such as circulation and automotive lubricants.
With the procedure, the following metals can be identified: iron, chrome, nickel, vanadium, copper, lead, tin, aluminium, silicon, molybdenum and natrium.
According to the literature and our experience, this procedure also applies to silver, cadmium, manganese, zinc and titanium. However, with regard to these metals, the accuracy has not been determined.
The procedure is dependent on the particle size of the wear metal build-up and impurities in the oil; metal particles larger than 5 µm cannot be quantitatively identified with this procedure.

Profile
Freelance translator in Dutch/English/Finnish and academic editor in Dutch/English with a passion for languages. More than ten years of teaching experience in English at the highest levels of Dutch secondary education. Prior to becoming an English teacher, I was a religion teacher in secondary education. I have an MA in English language and literature, as well as an MA in language teaching in secondary education. Apart from working as a freelance translator/editor, I work part-time as an English teacher at a private secondary school in the Netherlands.
My love for languages developed early on as I grew up in a bilingual family: I have a Finnish mother and a Dutch father. From the age of 10 to 14, I lived and went to school in Finland. Back in the Netherlands, I went to grammar school where, because of my interest in foreign languages, I took final exams in (among other subjects) English, German, French and Ancient Greek. I learnt Hebrew during my Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Middle and Old English during my Master’s degree in English Studies. This knowledge of foreign languages comes in handy in my work as a translator, because of my understanding of language structures.
