I am a freelance translator and subtitler, providing translations from English and German into Czech, my native language. I started out as a fan subtitler of movies and TV shows while still studying, until it eventually became my specialty. My services include both translating and time-cueing of subtitles either with or without the original language transcription. The shows I enjoyed working on most include Black Mirror, Sherlock, and Orange is the New Black. As a QCer, I've helped to polish up subtitles for thousands of minutes of movies and shows and caught missed typos and grammar and technical errors in them.

I very much enjoy the creative side of my profession, which is why I translate books as well. My published translations include the novels Anna Sacher a její hotel by the Austrian writer Monika Czernin (published by MOBA in 2017) and Čas zrádců: Cambridgeská pětka by Hannah Coler (published by MOBA in 2019).

Since I wanted to broaden my knowledge beyond languages, I studied for a degree in International Commercial Law. These studies are a great resource when translating for the European Parliament and Commission. My other areas of expertise are Marketing, Real Estate and Tourism.
