About the program
Performance Improvement gives special attention to declining performance. The program combines realistic goal setting, progress reviews, and feedback. The length of the program is established by the supervisor. It is based on the complexity of the goals to be accomplished.
If an employee's performance is declining, or if the person fails to achieve an acceptable level of performance, he or she may be placed on Performance Improvement. This applies whether or not the employee is currently due for a performance review. If the employee fails to respond to Performance Improvement, he or she will be placed on 30-day notice.
