From October 2009, I work on a freelance basis specialising in the translation of medical texts for the pharmaceutical industry from English into Spanish (over one million words translated/revised). Additionally, I have a considerable experience in business and legal translation and a deep insider knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, gained during 19 years of in-house work for travel companies.


Apart from using the translation memories and glossaries provided by my clients, I create my own terminology databases as I translate, to ensure a consistent use of terms. I have an extensive collection of printed and electronic resources that I use systematically to ensure not only the selection of the most appropriate terms, but also adherence to the relevant textual conventions. Before submission of any translation assignment, I proofread the target text and verify tag consistency between the source and the target text, thus minimising the time employed in revision.
