Hi,
Maybe I missed the announcement of this, but it seems that agencies can now broadcast to individuals - I've just been pre-approved for work. I'm so flattered!
Seriously, this strikes me as a VERY BAD IDEA. Unless of course, it means that they have accepted my standard terms and conditions.
What do other people think?

I missed the announcement also. Could you please provide a link to it? | | | |
(Because the Polish idiom has three of them, not two. ;P)
Donal, I believe that warm contacts are so much better than cold calling. I really appreciate knowing that someone's already interested in my services, even tentatively. This does coincide with similar observations as in your case: even while I might still review an offer with less than desired rules and conditions, I'm really not interested in any sort of sweatshop terms. Edit: After seeing Alejandro's links, I'd like to add that I'm not a fan of systems that send job offers to a couple of people at the same time, then another batch and another and so on. I understand that clutter is reduced, but I fail to appreciate their logic otherwise.

Thanks Alejandro. I see that they need to meet my minimum rate, so that's good.
The notification I got did meet my max 30 days payment - I don't know if that was accidental or a ProZ requirement also.
I must admit I was expecting some $0.03/word, 60 day payment offer, and it wasn't that!
