Actually, this is completely off topic, but at least very technical - sorry to pester you about it.
My son (12 ys old) is a devoted Sims-player who today managed to eliminate the "objects" file (75MB), containing all of his gadgets for the Sims families.
I could recover the file from the Recycle bin, but I have no idea what to do next: WinCommander says the recovered file has a .far extension (never heard of) and I should associate it with something - what?!

You'll understand the issue is a serious one - could you please help us? (My husband went fishing.) Thanks in advance.

Nothing further to do

I cannot offer any Sims-specific knowledge, but if you have restored the file from the Recycle Bin, there is nothing more you need to do; the file is restored to its original location and everything should be dandy.
If the game still doesn't work, is it possible that further files are missing?
Endre

TOPIC STARTER
It seems we are back on the right track

Thanks, Endre, actually it seems everything is fine now: there's just a white icon in WinCmd (perhaps that's what it always was), but when you start Sims, it works all right. To be on the safe side, according to your advice, I brought back all files deleted today and it is operational!
Thank you, it's good to know there are people who are ready to help.
Have a nice weekend,
Eva
