Hi folks,
I need some help here with my "sick" Fujitsu Lifebook baby. For the past two weeks, the screen would just go blank (white) all of a sudden without any warning. The programs are still running, but all I can get on the screen is white!!
Can anyone please give me a clue what could be wrong????
** desperate call for help **
TIA, Denyce

Hi Denyce,
I face similar problems with my laptop - except that my screen goes black. If I close the lid and open it again, everything is restored back (in all colours...;)). Sometimes it's enough to move a lid a bit - apparently the problem is in the lid itself and it's fixing with the rest of the computer.
Another option might be your screen saver settings: check this one, perhaps you got this white screensaver suddenly installed?
HTH

Hi Magda,
Those ideas sound cool; I will take note of them. But..... sometimes, when I reboot my laptop after the screen "white-out", it gives me the same white blank screen. I have to let the laptop rest for at least 10 minutes before I can get it to work fine again. What's wrong???
TIA,

I had a a similar problem with a Dell laptop a couple years ago. The screen would either turn yellow or I would get no picture at all. It turned out that the cable which runs from the graphic card to the LCD screen had loosened itself.
hope this helps

Take a look in Internet | Aug 2, 2004 |
Maybe in the FAQ section in the site of the graphic card of your laptop you can find the solution.
But...i think it is a hardware problem![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_frown.gif)

It seems to me that you are suffering from a overheating problem. Contact your vendor.

Thanks, folks. I will look into all the points you guys mentioned! My screen actually had another "white-out" just now while I was in the midst of writing a very long work email!! All I did was to move it a little, and it went back to normal. HOORAY!!!![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_smile.gif)
Thanks, thanks, thanks........... | | | Nigel Skipper (X) Local time: 06:38 Swedish to English Loose connection | Aug 3, 2004 |
This sounds like a loose connection, either between the motherboard and the cable to the screen or between the cable and the screen. I had the same problem with a Mac Powerbook. If you feel troubled about unscrewing your laptop's casing yourself, try to find a small local computer service center. Most probably its just a case of pushing two halves of a connecter back together.
If on the other hand your computer is still under warranty, it should be rectified free of charge by the vendor....
