Yes. It is my turn in 2023. Money transfer from Senegal. I can see that the first time it has happened in 2016. So it would suggest that the so-called bernadette is working in a really running scammers' business. But this time he/she is in a dead end path, because, no money transfer, to and from, is allowed in my country, Hell.

Thanks to the messages in this Forum. I was going to be convinced, seriously. ▲ Collapse | | |
The same Adame Ba konare. This person mailed my in 2021 and I almost signed the contract but I asked for additional ID and then the communication went dead. Now, a few days ago I received a new email asking for a translation of 78 pages from English into Croatian, payment - 12,000 EUR. I also received this email. I had my suspicions, but they were confirmed thanks to this thread. I'm copying the full text of the email I received, so that it may help any other translator who might get it and google it (as I did).
When I asked her for more details, she replied twice: one with an English document, and the exact same email but with a different document in French. That's when I realised it was definitely dodgy.

The scammer is back to Ba Konare. I received an email with two other Finland-based translators in the recipient field. One of them does not even translate into Finnish, they just happen to exist in a translator registry next to my name...
Budget is up this time! 14 000 € for 78 pages. Here is the message sent from bakonare04@gmail.com.

I answered once and got a reliable-looking docx-file for answer, but it seems to be written by someone else. No talk about paying to be paid (yet) but already a lot of talk about banks transfers "being secure". I was tempted to fall for this but it's just too good to be true. ▲ Collapse | | | Pages in topic: < [1 2 3] | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Money transfer from Senegal - am I dealing with scam?
