I have Insert selected on the top ribbon, and the options displayed over Pages are:

Cover page
Blank page
Page break

In Word you delete text, not pages Nov 5

In Word, you mark the text that you want to delete, and press the delete key. Then Word repaginate the document accordingly.

use this Nov 5

Sometimes this can happen in Word, cuz of the previous formatting, no borders tables expanding in the next page, etc..
Activate this so you can see the paragraph marks. And select it with the mouse cursor and hit backspace or delete. That's it.

Headings should be visible in navigation pane Nov 6

If you have created headings/titles for each section of your text, then these should be visible in the navigation pane.

However, it sounds like you might not have the relevant headings displayed in the navigation pane, and this is why you are not able to see the options you are looking for.

If you have created headings/titles for each section of your text, then these should be visible in the navigation pane.

However, it sounds like you might not have the relevant headings displayed in the navigation pane, and this is why you are not able to see the options you are looking for.

Basically you just need to right click on the relevant heading in the navigation pane and select "delete." This will delete all text under the heading, including any text that appears under any sub-headings. One should be cautious about this last point since it may cause you to lose text that you did not actually intend to delete.

Otherwise, you need to create the relevant headings before the text under them can be deleted using the navigation pane - and if you do not wish to go through the effort of creating such headings, then you can just delete the text manually.

In this case, you would just need to highlight the text you wish to delete and then use the "delete" or "backspace" key.
