Hello everyone,

Thank you all for taking the time to beta test the new hosting service.

I am in the process of upgrading the hardware in the hosting servers to provide improved redundancy and fault tolerance. Hello everyone,

Thank you all for taking the time to beta test the new hosting service.

I am in the process of upgrading the hardware in the hosting servers to provide improved redundancy and fault tolerance. On Friday, 29 October, I plan to migrate all the beta hosting accounts to a new server. Additionally, tonight I will be making a minor change to the existing server to facilitate this process.

I do not anticipate that these changes will have any negative impact on the beta hosting service, but given Murphy's law there is always a chance that something could go wrong. I will post status updates in this forum as events warrant. If you experience any problems with the hosting service, please let me know by submitting a support request.

Thanks,

Jason

Beta hosting accounts migrated to new server Oct 30, 2004

Hello beta testers,

As promised, I have migrated all of the existing beta hosting accounts to a new, more robust server.

Please let me know if you are missing any files, or if something about your hosting account isn't working the way it was before.

Best regards,

Jason

Accidentally restored "This page has not been created yet" to some accounts Nov 5, 2004

Hello everyone,

During the migration to the new server last weekend, it appears that some sites without an "index.html" file had the default index page restored. The default index page shows the message "This page has not been created yet". If, since this weekend, you see the default index page on your site, simply move or remove the "index.html" file in your "public_html" directory and your site will be back to normal. If you need a

cheddar.host.proz.com no longer a valid link Nov 5, 2004

Some early beta testers received a welcome email with a link to their control panel at "cheddar.host.proz.com". This link is no longer valid.

To access your control panel, use the link on your hosting info page, (e.g. http://yourdomain.com/cpanel ). If your domain name is still in the process of being registered, you can access your control panel at <

no change after migrating to mydomain.com/cpanel Nov 6, 2004

Dear Jason,

I have followed your advice and my web designer moved everything from cheddar.host.proz.com to mydomain.com/cpanel, but the recent changes on my site are still not visible online. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you,
Dan

do we have to move anything from any current domain Nov 6, 2004

Adv. Jason,

What do we have to do to take the advantage of the new hosting system. I guess any move or change would take place at domain level through the provider. Do we have to undergo further steps to complete this. Shall I withdraw the current status/level.
Best Regards,
Brandis

Your new files are there; try clearing your cache Nov 6, 2004

Hi Dan,

I see new files in your public_html/en directory that were uploaded 5 November. Are you unable to see these files in the en/ subdirectory of your web site? If so, you may be seeing an older, cached version of your site. See this FAQ for details about clearing your browser's cache: http://www.proz.com/faq/misc#clear_browser_cache

I hope this helps.
