Did you notice in your language pair a lot of inappropriate glossary entries, too? I don't refer to clearly wrong ones here:-)
When I started to participate at Proz, some years ago, few people entered a term into the glossary and however this was nearly always left to the answerer.
Nowadays, you find all kinds of entries made immediately mostly by the asker: declined adjectives, terms in the plural, entire sentences, not to speak of orthographical errors.... ... I find that quite a number of entries turn out to be entirely nonsense in terms of searchability.
Shouldn't there be a "warning" before deciding to enter a term into the glossary and/or the request
a) to edit it in a "searchable manner" and
b) to check in order to avoid double, fourfold... tenfold identical entries??

I'm so concerned about making a poor entry that I usually don't make glossary entries. I often ask questions that are so peculiar to the context that it would make little sense to put the answer in the glossary.
Some guidelines would be very useful. For example, there should be a "suggestion" that conjugated verb phases be put in the infinitive when possible and that plurals should be made singular...

Like everything you get here in the way of answers, confirm it thoroughly before using it. Yes, there is a lot of garbage, but some of it may also turn out to be useful.
There are no miracles; in the final analysis we must always use our own judgment, and we'd do well to make sure we have some to use!
Depending on others is not the way to make it in this field.

Correct me if my memory fails here, but I believe that a glossary entry is already proposed when you close a question, and by only ticking a checkbox you can enter the term from the most helpful answer into the glossary.
It might already help to force people to actually type in a term (and thus hopefully force them to think) for the glossary rather than just enter a term by clicking.

I agree with what you say but there is no controlling the human being and none of us is perfect.
Sure, have some guidelines and let's stick to them as best we can, but really we can only trust our own judgement and professionalism and check and double check references and suggested translations. Don't take anything at face value.
