Report from  nathalie kourimsky-preininger
We met in a separate room in the Cafe Stein which is a place near the center of town which also has Internet access.
About 15 persons showed interest in coming to the powwow, but at the beginning we were only 5 people, then a few more persons showed up.
There were 4 people attending a powwow for the first time. We had quite a lot of working languages : German, french english, danish, hugarian, spanish, arab, dutch and catalan.
The discussion topics were very lively and concerned mainly the very hot topic of translation fees, the difficulties met when starting as a free-lance translator and the problems faced by interpreters when having to work in bad conditions.
Unfortunately the webcam was't working properly and the room was very noisy, so we resolved to just chatting with the other powwow groups. It was difficult to discuss and chat at the same time, so we soon reduced the chatting and continued the discussions which lasted almost until 1 a.m.
Thanks to Romina for coordinating the powwows and the chat groups.
It was a great experience and I hope there will be more powwows in the area in the near future
