- Zájmovou skupinou rozumíme seskupení lidí spojených určeným společným zájmem - ať už jde o odbory, menšinové zájmové skupiny, různé typy lobistických skupin, studentská křídla politických stran apod. Pojem má poněkud obecnější záběr než politická strana, od níž se zájmové skupiny liší tím, že se politické soutěže neúčastní přímo. Politické strany se původně vyvinuly ze zájmových skupin. V současnosti sice většinou fungují také v rámci politické strany nebo i napříč stranami, často se ale stává, že se ze zájmové skupiny vytvoří nová politická strana. wikipedia - by Kateřina Suchánková

- Současná politická věda má problém vymezit pojem „zájmová skupina“ (Říchová 2002: 115-117; Fiala 1999). Klasická definice M. Webera je dle mnoha politologů nedostatečná.
