Il credit scoring è un sistema usato dalle banche e dagli intermediari finanziari per valutare la solvibilità del consumatore. Il sistema combina tra loro una serie di informazioni al fine di pervenire ad un punteggio di accettazione (da parte del soggetto finanziatore) circa il rischio di credito del richiedente in un determinato arco di tempo. In funzione del punteggio, l'intermediario trae elementi utili per accettare o rifiutare il finanziamento, per determinare l’entità del finanziamento e il tasso di interesse applicato.
