- Die Anzahl der Akzessionen in dieser auch als Gefäßpflanzen bezeichneten Gruppe der höheren Pflanzen beträgt ca. 250 000. Schätzungsweise 80% davon stammen aus der Zeitspanne 1850-1900, der Blütezeit der klassischen Botanik.
