Russian term

прислушиваться специально

Russian to English Art/Literary Sports / Fitness / Recreation
Ходьба -- это типовая нагрузка, восприятие к ней адаптировано и потому она в нем [в восприятии] не представлена, ощущений нет - если не прислушиваться специально.
Here is my attempt to translate the entire sentence. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Walking is a routine effort adapted to by perception and, thus, not noticed--no associated sensations are felt unless you intentionally focus on them.

With all respect, Nick-On! Getting used to the changes in your heartbeat, your muscles feeling tense, some days - feeling hard at the chest, that sort of sensations are sensed (felt). That, which we perceive - they are the things from the outer world, they cannot be a product of our body, a beauty of nature, for instance.Your physical perception during workout exercise - the perception of the rainy/sunny weather, even/uneven surface or uncomfortable clothes, it would be your skin, if you mean the bodily perception.
Nik-On/Off (asker) Mar 5, 2010:
about perception (for Alexandra) Perception - Process of registering sensory stimuli as meaningful experience.

I was concentrating on the actual question. I agree the whole sentence might be improved.
agree Maria Fokin : "adapted to by perception" sounds a little odd but the part of the sentense asked about is perfect

(slightly different word order)

I will make it English for you and readable:
"As walking becomes a routine workload/exercise, the sensational realization would tend to adapt and wouldn't be so noticeable , thus, would submerge (into unconscious) - no associated sensations would be felt, unless you focus on them intentionally.

a little improvement:" thus, IT would submerge.."

neutral Marina Khonina : I would still vote for Nik-On/Off's version, as it is not nearly as convoluted. Are you sure about "sensational realization", by the way? :)

agree Anna Rogovchenko : I also agree with author's version "focus on" and I really agree THIS Alexandra's version of the WHOLE sentence sounds much more English
