Spanish term
derechos de formación
Spanish to English

Buenas noches.

training compensation fees
...is, I believe, how FIFA refers to this kind of thing.

I agree. In this case "derechos" refers to the 'fees" not the "rights"

Thank you, David - it's like "derechos de matrícula" which are "registration fees" but in this case with reference to the training fees.

Discussion
12 and 23. Training Compensation shall be payable, as a general
rule, up to the age of 23 for training incurred up to the age of
21, unless it is evident that a player has already terminated his
training period before the age of 21. In the latter case, Training
Compensation shall be payable until the end of the Season in
which the player reaches the age of 23, but the calculation of the
amount payable shall be based on the years between 12 and the
age when it is established that the player actually completed his
training.
The system is designed to compensate clubs for bringing on young players who are then bought by other clubs. Eg, Ivory Coast teenager Souleymane Coulibaly currently plays for Siena in Italy but is wanted by Real Madrid. If he joins Madrid, they will have to pay Siena training compensation, because the Italian club have spent the last two years developing and nurturing the player.
