SELM = name of a firm in Czech Republic
This is purely a guess. I found a firm in the Czech Republic, SELM s.r.o., that has a Web site with a single Danish page at http://client.goodboog.com/c/selm-s-r-o/categorization/da. I think "SELM NR." might be their way of identifying a customer with a number.

Well, I did say it was a guess, right? And a poor one at that. I have found a Danish tax document using "KMNR" and "SELM NR" at http://polweb.nethotel.dk/Produkt/PolWeb/Sog/ShowFile.asp?p=... So it's an acronym of some sort, related to some classification scheme that I don't know yet.

So far as I can tell, SELM was possibly a taxing scheme or taxing authority or other regulator that disappeared a few years ago. Documents that contain references to it have been expunged from the official archives.

Note from asker:
Charles, thank you so much for the time you spent ;) It can however not be a term from the past, because the tax return I am working on is dated 2007. I have told my client that I left these abbrev. as is, and it was ok with him. |
