Discussion

Sophie Raimondo (asker) May 22, 2009:
Bandeau ou bannière? Quel est le plus courant en France?
Sophie Raimondo (asker) May 22, 2009:
Bannières paraît plus juste si c'était la présentation, finalement, je pense que ce serait "advertising display", et non "display advertising"...

bannières

"display advertising" has a specific meaning in online advertising; it means ads which are in the form of boxed elements on a page (as opposed to search results ads, viral video, etc.). There are different names for them depending on shape, but "banner ads" (English) or "bannières" (French) are used generally, despite what their names may indicate.
Peer comment(s):

agree Eric Le Carre : I agree with you. But, I believe 'bandeau (publicitaire)' is a better translation than 'bannière'.

présentation

Ca me paraît en effet plus cohérent dans ce contexte.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Andrew Levine : it refers to a kind of advertising, not the layout or look of the advertising.
