English term

middle grade doctors

English to French Medical Medical: Health Care
This translation is for a web site advertising its services to French doctors who would like to come and work as doctors in the UK. The context of the translation is as follows:

"The recent changes in the education of doctors in the UK has led to a shortfall in the number of middle grade doctors ( Registrars) and a future anticipated shortfall in Specialist doctors, such as Staff Grades, Associate Specialists and Locum Consultants. " Thank you very much for any help you can give me in finding an appropriate equivalent.

training doctors

The names of the position of doctors are quite different between conturies. 'Registar' in the UK means 'doctors in their trainee posts'. If you are wish to be more specific, it would be close to 'resident' in America, but I recommend the term 'training doctors' in the comprehensive context. You can refer the webpage below.
Example sentence:

During the F2 year you will be asked to apply to compete for a place on a training programme as a specialty registrar working towards a post as a hospital consultant, or as a GP registrar training to become a GP.

Note from asker:
Thank you very much for your answer. I agree that the term relates to doctors in training, although already at a very high level, somewhere between senior house officer and consultant. Thanks again
