A second source of potential competition is from overseas projects, particularly those based
on magnetite resources, which are believed to be ultimately far more plentiful than the
predominately hematite resources that are currently exploited. There is considerable uncertainty
surrounding the best way in which to develop such resources and, in particular, whether such
projects should seek to supply pellet feed or pellets. Since many of these prospects are of a,
frankly, speculative nature, there is also a high degree of uncertainty as to their eventual capital
and operating costs.
