The snare strainer was as smooth as the best designs out there and well positioned for easy use and had a nice ***positive click-position fine tensioning knob*** on strainer and butt to prevent slippage. The tuning stayed pretty well where I wanted it throughout the gigs and needed no more than a quick tweak next time it was played. I was also quite into the cross stick sound which had more depth than I expected. And brushes were a pleasure to use due to the subtle dynamics and responsiveness of the wires. This snare drum would be great as an addition to any kit setup or even, dare I say, as an orchestral snare. Tasty!
