dio buta a Zenyatta
Bute is the common name for phenylbutazone - a drug often given to horses when they show signs of pain.
Unfortunately, if not administered carefully, it can lead to the horse getting rather ill.
The girl here has turned "gave bute" into a verb "buted".

"Just lately, I decided to educate myself on the subject of bute. You know what I’m referring to – that handy tube of paste, or container of powder, or liquid form which we frequently reach for when a horse in our care indicates it is in some form of pain, soreness or distress."

It refers to a drug called "Phenylbutazone, often referred to as bute" a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the short-term treatment of pain, including the symptoms of arthritis, gout and ankylosing spondylitis. Its use is limited by side effects such as suppression of white blood cell production, aplastic anemia and granulomas. In other words, the horse "Zenyatta" was drugged! (Oh my, I didn't know that .. how wicked!). Regards.
