Do you know what year and country the text is from? This could affect the translation of "billion." If it's a particularly old text (several decades old), "billion" *could* be "billón," depending on the source country.

Do you need to convert the amount? Rand is the name of
a basic unit of currency in South Africa and Swaziland.
