However, if it is a game of pool, then it looks as if a player has hit the cue ball in such as way as to set up the result I've described; the final stage of whatever chain reaction his shot has instigated, is that ball No. 15 glances, or perhaps, cannons, off ball No. 5 and rolls into to one of the four pockets located at the four corners of the table, as distinct from ending up in one of the two middle pockets.

agree Cilian O'Tuama : In some versions of pool the players have to announce their shots - here the player says he intends hitting the 15 in such a way that it deflects off the 5 and goes into a particular corner pocket.
