housing suitable for people who have not previously had a home of their own

Young people newly married (or otherwise paired off) who need a first home together usually do not have much money, and so have to enter the housing market, if they can do so at all, by renting or buying something very cheap.
Note from asker:
What is the most suitable (one word) that can replace that term to be able to have a translation not description in my target language? Thank you
Peer comment(s):

agree Tatiana Nero (X) : yes, it's another euphemism for "cheap".

Thank you.
agree Will Matter : "Starter house", "first home" and so forth.

Thank you.
agree jccantrell : small and checp, allowing the buyers to get in with a low down-payment for the loan.

Thank you.
agree Can Altinbay : Small and inexpensive. Cheap implies poor quality, which is maybe likely but not necessarily the case./I didn't think you implied it, but at least in the US, a lot of people read that in, so care is warranted.

Thank you, but I don't think cheap always implies pure quality. I didn't mean to imply that here.

agree Mikhail Kropotov : I think cheap NEVER implies pure quality ;) The spelling got screwed up some place, so I was just trying to point it out. Poor and pure... Oh well, it's not important.

Thank you. It doesn't imply it, but you can always hope. "Hope springs eternal in the human breast".
agree William [Bill] Gray : It also has the idea of "no frills" which allows application for low-interest loans provided for first-time house buyers.

Thank you. I guess it does. Reminds me of something from "Hancock's Half-Hour": (Tony Hancock is buying a car from Sid James) Tony: "I don't want any extras, thank you." Sid. "No extras? You want wheels, don't you?"

agree Dave Calderhead : 'Affordable housing' is one of sociologists and architects' current trendy terms

Thank you. Yes, but that's an elastic term, isn't it? Affordable by whom? Richard Branson? Alan Sugar?
agree humbird : Housing for the "first home buyers" in the U.S.

Thank you. It can be called that here too.
agree NancyLynn : first-time home buyers

agree Angela Dickson (X) : yes, I don't think there is a one-word synonym here.

Thank you. Yes. I think the asker wants an explanation rather than a synonym.

affordable housing

Houses for first time buyers whose income goes from minimum to near professional income. Some houses in a development, let´s say 25%, must be sold as entry-level housing to people who can't afford to pay more than their 30% of income for housing. There many rules in US and UK. Those houses have a restricted sale price and can be bought if the town accepts the buyer, once they meet some requirements. In my case I went to one of those houses and they are the same as others in a development, at least in NJ.

neutral Angela Dickson (X) : this is a current buzz-word and the meaning is close but in many definitions 'affordable housing' does not have to be for first time buyers.
