with concerns over objectivity and neutrality

My understanding is that the psychologist is concerned/worried that he may have showed signs of subjectivity and partiality during his/her evaluation instead of being more objective and neutral. This is a concern for the psychologist.

I hope this helps you.

Good luck!

I made an error in my explanation (I was brain dead ), and I want to correct myself. Here's a better explanation of the context:

There were concerns over being objective and neutral during the evaluation of the young person in these classic testing conditions.

For now, "while attempting to remain objective and neutral" will be my translation. I think it is a decent one.

Thanks, Alina!
neutral mportal : I think the psychologist is merely pointing out that these are concerns in the classic methods of testing

Thank you, mportal. It was late when I answered this question. But, yes, I did not explain it correctly. My explanation was indeed incorrect. I corrected myself. That said, I have no doubts over my translation.
disagree Sandra Petch : Sorry, even with your revised explanation, I disagree. In the same spirit I would suggest "with concern for objectivity..."

What is the difference between the preposition "for" or "over" in this situation? I am not following you. Besides, some are not understanding this: If one is concerned about being neutral and objective, one is trying to ensure that he is both of those.

with painstaking objectivity and neutrality

just a suggestion

disagree MatthewLaSon : This has nothing to do with "painstaking" objectivity/neutrality

with a view to maintaining objectivity and neutrality

Not perfect, but I think this is what it's getting at.
Peer comment(s):

agree Julie Barber : totally agree, 'souci' here doesn't have to include a notion of worry, it's commonly used in this context - with a view to, taking into account

every attempt made to remain as objective and neutral as possible

the assessment of XXX was carried out under.... conditions and every attempt was made to remain...

I do not like "designed " here because it makes the last part of the sentence depend on the first, which is not intended IMHO

or perhaps better - every attempt made to remain objective and neutral - leave out the "as possible", which is rather an add-on....
