German term
Schallarkaden

Architecture
Found in a church. Apparently also a synonym for "Klangarkaden". I have found a German definition which says this: Bogenöffnungen im Glockengeschoß eines Kirchturmes
My context is:
"Sparsame rundbogige Durchfensterung und Zwillingsfenster als Schallarkaden."
That is the only part of the sentence relating to the Schallarkaden so that's all I can provide. I have temporarily translated it as "sound arcades" as I am not an architecture specialist. Would much appreciate any input!

abat-son
An abat-son (usually plural abat-sons) is an architectural device constructed to reflect sound in a particular direction. Typically it takes the form of large louvers which direct the sound of church bells from a bell tower toward the ground.
In general use, any louvers in a bell tower are commonly called abat-sons, whether they are designed to redirect sound or merely to prevent ingress of water.
