: Hello, Cilian, @ asker: Possibly e.g. for Adolf Luther, "Licht- & Objektkünstler" "(1912-1990) ..." & c'd contact the A.L Stiftung, cf. www.adolf-luther-stiftung.de/; process also used for "Bildplatten": www.aec.at/en/archiv_files/19861/E1986a_318.pdf

vapor deposited glasses
or glasses with vapor deposited minerals (if I understand the first part "mit mineralogisch bedampften Gläsern" right).
This is what we call it in chemistry and physics, but the references show a few sites for ceramics and glass using the same term.

: I think you are on the right lines, cf my suggestion and links, but glasses are Brillen, so it has to be glass or pieces of glass.

Thanks for pointing this out. Maybe some vapor deposited glasses will help me see clearer ;-)

: May be vapor-deposited glassy materials? It looks like it has to do with vapor deposition, a well-known technique which made its appearance may be some 25-30 years ago?

: "glasses" conceivable if talking different kinds of glass, but an art text would be less likely to - tho' not inconceivable in tech. passages.

[metal-oxide] vapor/vapour-coated glass
This is what I found. If the glass is just pieces of glass I would either say 'glass' or 'pieces of glass'. If it is something specific, like glass containers, such as in my example, I would say that. Clearly, glasses means something else in English!
"Hood for metal-oxide vapor coating glass containers.
An apparatus for applying a metal-oxide coating to hot, freshly formed glass containers. The apparatus includes a tunnel including spaced apart sidewalls, a conveyor for conveying hot, freshly formed glass containers through said tunnel, and a vapor distributor. The vapor distributor includes a series of alternating vapor inlets and vapor outlets arranged along each side wall of the tunnel. Each vapor inlet along one side wall of the tunnel is positioned opposite to a vapor outlet on the other side of the tunnel. Moreover, each vapor inlet and vapor outlet has a pivoted baffle positioned internally thereof, the pivoting of the baffle being effective to vary the vertical extent of an opening of the inlet and the outlet, and each vapor outlet having an adjustable flow divider internally thereof for dividing the vapor flowing into the vapor outlet into a first portion to be exhausted from the tunnel and a second portion to be recirculated through the vapor inlet into the tunnel."

Also:
"Chemical vapor deposition of coatings on glass
Chemical vapor deposition has been used to deposit films of a wide variety of materials. Those of particular interest to the glass industry include coatings of silicon, titanium nitride, and the oxides of silicon, aluminum, tin, zinc and transition metals, which can add very useful electrical and optical properties to glass. Several different chemical sources and reactions are used to deposit these materials.

dichroic glass
Maybe in the art sense, dichroic glass is another possibility:
(or vaporized)
Dichroic - Glass which has a thin metal film vaporized onto its surface. The glass transmits one color and reflects a different color. Each manufacturer offers about a dozen different color combinations.
DICHROIC GLASS - This is any piece of glass that has a special heat resistant metallic looking coating applied to it's surface by a process called vapor deposition. The coating produces a vibrant, metallic looking sparkle that changes color under different angles of light. It looks similar to an iridescent surface only it is much more intense. Dichroic coatings can be applied to sheets of glass and canes regardless of their C.O.E.
9. Why does glass protect against UV rays?
Special glass or vaporized glass has a blocking filter in the UV range, which reduces or blocks the penetration of UV rays.
Flashing, Very thin layer of colored glass fired or vaporized on base glass.
