The referred page at Linguee gives two options; I trust my choice better than the other one (gear stub). The Oxford Dictionary gives an explanation of the term "journal" that seems to fit here.

agree David Moore (X) : I recently translated a manual for aero eangines, and this was the term I was asked to used - it looks a similar situation here too.

Thanks. I first encountered "journal" in this sense applied to the ends of axles in railroad cars and locomotives (in the US).

Within the cup-shaped extension, a cylindrical guide sleeve is introduced with an internal rubber plug, in which a gear pin is then stored.
