German term
Poka Yoke Magazinierung
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Engineering (general)
Laser Product Specification
"2.3 Qualitätsziele
§ 2 Doppelblechüberwachungen beim Auflegen (für eine und zwei Lagen)
§ ***Poka Yoke-Magazinierung***
§ Lagekontrolle auf Carrier in, oder vor Presse 1
§ Vorschubüberwachung
§ Quickieüberwachung
§ Spanndruckabfrage Spannpilze in Laserstation
§ Energieabfrage des Laserstrahls nach Austritt aus dem Schweißkopf
beim Einrichten und Abrüsten, wobei die Anzahl der Abfragen frei wählbar ist
§ Ronden- und Lagenabfrage vor Presse 3
§ Lagekontrolle in Presse 3
§ Positionsabfrage Carrier
§ Positioniergenauigkeit der Carrier +- 0,10mm
§ Abstand Außen-Ø Schweißpunkt zu Brennraumdurchmesser min. 0,10mm
∆ max. 0,20mm"
Laser product specification. Poka Yoka Magazinierung is German, but not as I know it. This would have to be right up there with the most bizarre and obscure terms I have ever come across. Nonetheless, has anyone here heard of it, or perchance knows its meaning in English? TIA for whatever light you can shed on it.

Poka Yoke magazining
Here's a quote from the first reference:
"A poka yoke device is one that prevents incorrect parts from being made or assembled, or easily identifies a flaw or error. poka-yoke - 'mistake-proofing', a means of providing a visual or other signal to indicate a characteristic state. Often referred to as 'error-proofing', poke-yoke is actually the first step in truly error-proofing a system. Error-proofing is a manufacturing technique of preventing errors by designing the manufacturing process, equipment, and tools so that an operation literally cannot be performed incorrectly."
Poka-yoke is Japanese for mistake-proofing. These devices are used either to prevent the special causes that result in defects, or to inexpensively inspect each item that is produced to determine whether it is acceptable or defective. It was devised by a Japanese engineer from Toyota.
So I reckon from your context that during this magazining (I don't think it's storage), the process is designed in such a way - by mechanical means perhaps - that error is impossible. Perhaps a laser that detects flaws and rejects defects automatically?

Comment: "Thanks for the informative answer, Marcus. No wonder I said it was not German as I knew it - the term is Japanese! Thanks also to John and Sonja for helpful peer grade comments - those are much appreciated also."
