cruise engines being brought to full thrust
Shortly before the active separation of the second stage from the first one, its cruise engines are brought to full thrust, while the launch vehicle's guidance system is concurrently initialized for operation.
Мне самому active separation не нравится, и я предпочел бы active disengagement, однако похоже, что терминология уже сложилась.

You can use nominal thrust as well, but I believe that's a full thrust - полная тяга.
