Edit TTX file in a text editor Nov 1, 2004

Hi Silvina,
Did you create the TTX file, or was it sent to you? In the latter case, you should check with whoever generated it whether changing the target language won't create a problem for them.

To change the target language setting, open the TTX file in a text editor and search for "TargetLanguage". Change this to the code of your required target language (I would guess it's "ES-ES", but to be sure, look at an export of your TM - the language codes are in there), and save t

Tag Editor? Aug 7, 2008

But how do you change the language settings in the file you are opening with Tag Editor? Not the TM but the file.

Thanks!

the problem persists Dec 20, 2009

Hi

I have the same problem.
I changed the target language in notepad, but the problem persists! I still see the other language in TagEditor.
I've never had this problem before, only with this translation. I also noticed that now also on other files there is this new language.

Anyone can help me?

Never thought I'd live to see the day Notepad turns out to be useful Mar 16, 2010

Thanks, Ralf AND Fernando!

I had to change the source language, not the target language, and the procedure worked just great.

And oh, by the way, it wouldn't work when I tried to edit the file using Wordpad, which was way too clever for its own good and wanted to strip all formatting when I saved the modified ttx file. On the other hand, bare-bones Notepad saved the file as is with nary a complaint!

Never thought I'd appreciate Notepad!

Thanks Ralf for the great advise.

Still one must restart TagEditor after a TTX is changed and saved in Notepad. Otherwise the old language is displayed.

Thank you for this! May 16, 2011

Wonderful! It works! I had the same issue with the ttx file and now I am able to adjust the language even when it was sent as a different ST/TT.

Thank you so much.
