I think that's about it. [Edited at 2010-08-24 11:46 GMT]
Very well said!
I also cook for my family, I hang the clothes out to dry, and more.
The fact is I enjoy it, but it definitely is a lot of work and takes up time and energy. I wonder how many men colleagues do a housework as a part of their workload (rather than as an occasional "favour").

But not recently. And I'm thinking of not tutoring anymore.
Translating takes up most of my time.
The rest being housework, cooking, walking the dog, and providing taxi service for a teenager...

I must say that "other" was my reply for these same reasons
yes (the only paid job) | Aug 25, 2010 |
First, let me say hello.
My name is Magda. This is my first post.
I am full-time translator.
But I try to do as much volunteering as I can (not translating)
And, as other mentioned, I have an unpaid job too. I am a mother to two toddlers and a wife. I cook (I love it!), I clean (I hate it), I try not to get crazy.

Also a writer/editor | Aug 25, 2010 |
Besides working as a translator, I also write, edit and proofread both online and offline texts. Ranging from SEO based website texts, columns, articles, interviews and reviews to desk research and content management.
I love the variety of my work and think it's more fun this way (and it keeps me sharper) than doing either of them full time.
Oh yes, I occasionally take the trash out as well
