Apparently Pizarros´ soldiers/adventures wanted to go home and forget about the Inca empire. Pizarro trazed a line in the beach and say....

Thank you Samuel for that answer, it is something I can work with, instead of the short calculation Felipe made of my post without providing any answers.
Sure, I don't mind either if Felipe would've brought it differently, I don't mind giving advice at all or possibly even help him (even though I'm not a lawyer or IT person).
But the way it was brought is what deeply disturbed me, the way Felipe only answers the questions he wants to, ignoring the other people who did point him towards possible legal issues, how his clients would react on him adding his own TM's to the database (before I get this same question, my answer: No, I would not even think about asking my clients if I could add their translations to this database, I would not even contribute with my translations, or even buying it, it is something that would give me a feeling of 'cheating, mis-using the trust the companies give me to perform the translation they need, again this is my personal feeling)

Anyway, the way it was brought to the forum is what makes me feeling sick. There are genuine questions asked by other people and Felipe is just answering the ones he likes to hear and ignoring the ones that he doesn't, or he is answering them with a small, not constructive answer like the 'calculation' he made from my post. What the heck can I do with that 'calculation'? I for one can't answer it because there is nothing to answer on.
It is almost a bit 'childish' to see him do that. Now, I don't call him childish, but the behaviour he is showing.

Felipe, I think Pizarro would be very amused if you dared to compare this TM endeavour of yours with the situation in which he said those words. Maybe you need to refresh/widen your knowledge of Pizarro's life and the history of Latin America and Spain?
Let me suggest the following: There is an ATA conference in November. Why don't you talk to the ATA people and ask them for space and time to speak out your proposals and ideas, and see how welcome or unwelcome they are among serious translators and companies like those attending the ATA conferences?

And I also agree on the idea of the ATA's conference. I'm sure the proposal will be welcomed by most professional translators from all over the world!

Mmm, I'm just getting an anonymous email through Proz from an unknown German male/female that it would be wise if I would refrain from commenting on this topic.
To that person (who I've also sent a link to this post) I would like to say;
As far as I know I live in a free world in which I can say what I want to say and think what I want to think. As far as I know, both The Netherlands (where I come from) and Germany (where you come from) are democracies.

Honestly Nicolette, I would forward the email to a moderador for analysis. They can quickly check who sent the email, at what time, etc. Maybe they can tell you who it was.

Too bad that on the email I received I also got the IP address (which might not mean anything) but also a link to the senders profile.

I think ProZ ist a better place for such a proposal, but do not dislike ATA. Why not? I have never been at an ATA conference.

I KNOW that there are thousands of translators who would buy such a product/service. And I know that there will be hundred of translators who would be sharing their TMs. The question is what exactly and how exactly. The question is very simple. Why on earth should we relinquish a wonderful translator ressource like a global TM? Why should we still writting with a typewriter if there is already computers?
Nicolette I would also be very interested in knowing who is sending this email, asking you to stop posting or what is that exactly?

I've said that I found your behaviour childish, the way you seem to ignore genuine questions from people when they ask you a question, or when you answer with 'calculations' or other things that people can't give any answers on.
I would like to know who send me that anonymous mail also, and no, I'm not going to post the mail I got to this thread, not because I don't want to, because believe me I want to do that, but because that is not fair on the person who sent me that email. It has been send on to a moderator, and I'm sure he will deal with it as he sees fit.
