I am Jens Arvidsson, a translator living just outside of Gothenburg, Sweden. My mother tongue is Swedish and I translate from English to Swedish and German to Swedish.
I have a Master's degree in Translation studies. My master thesis is titled "The IKEA catalogue in Swedish and in translation. Cultural implications in the translation of marketing text". I also wrote essays on translation in miscellaneous subjects, from forestry to Samuel Pepys' diary. The program included courses ranging from the translation of scientific and engineering texts over popular science texts to literary translation and linguistic analysis.
I also have a B. A. degree (hons) in German. This degree also included studies in English (60 ECTS points / 1 year) and general linguistics (30 ECTS points / ½ year).
I can undertake translation projects in e.g. general software translation, web site translation, general subjects, agriculture, forestry, sports, history, genealogy, and linguistics.
