I am a native speaker of English and hold a doctorate in French from Princeton University. I have lived throughout the French-speaking world in North America, Africa, and Europe, and provided simultaneous French-English and English-French interpretation for a number of international conferences in fields including veterinary medicine, mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDS, education in developing countries, and the participation of women in politics, as well as public lectures on art. I served as interpreter for the French Assistant Minister of Cooperation, M. Xavier Darcos, during his speech and press conference at the ACP-European Union summit in Botswana in 2004, and have provided interpretation in courtrooms in the United States. In addition, I have done telephone interpretation for medical, legal, and business servivces. I also have translated a variety of documents from French to English and from English to French, including bank annual reports, business contracts, and certificates. I have a background in classical languages and can translate short passages such as mottos and proverbs from or into Latin. I am currently resident in China.
