Source text - English The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), made the first attempts to define the principles of humanitarian assistance. As early as 1921, the pioneer humanitarian actor ICRC proclaimed that its action was based on four principles, including impartiality and political, religious and economic independence. Humanitarian principles also emerged in texts of international humanitarian law (IHL), or the law of armed conflict, through the Geneva Conventions and its Protocols. Based on these two sources, ICRC principles and IHL, other principles have been proposed by the growing humanitarian community and states.
Translation - Spanish Los primeros intentos para definir los principios de asistencia humanitaria los llevo a cabo el Comité Internacional de la Cruz Roja (CICR). En 1921, este pionero actor humanitario proclamó que su acción estaba basada en 4 principios, entre los que se incluían, la imparcialidad y la independencia política, religiosa y económica.
