English to Dutch: Selection from my translation of: 7 Things to Consider BEFORE You Launch your Crowdfunding Project General field: Art/Literary
Source text - English So, what does that mean? Well, you must first write a treatment for your project and develop a strong pitch. The treatment is an overview of what you’re trying to do. Feature Film treatments that get shopped around Hollywood might be 60 pages long and include scenes, storyboards, budget figures, and a distribution strategy. Does your pitch need to be this complex? That depends on your personality and what you’re trying to accomplish, but you cannot proceed with your project successfully until you’ve gone through the process of developing your pitch through a treatment. The treatment essentially becomes the “written” portion of your project from which you can cannibalize to write everything down the road.
Translation - Dutch Wat betekent dit voor jou?
English to Dutch: Selection from my translation of the text: Kickstarter: What It Is & How It Works General field: Art/Literary
Source text - English Because funding is all-or-nothing, you can always raise more than your goal but never less. Figure out how much money you need to complete the project as promised (while considering how much funding you think you can generate), and select an amount close to that.
English to Dutch: Selection from my translation of the text: Case Study: Aaron Huey General field: Art/Literary
Source text - English Thanks to Emphas.is, Aaron’s outreach strategy, and Shepard and Ernesto’s collaborations, the project was a success. But it was by no means easy. “Crowdfunding is not something to dabble around with,” Aaron says. “You have to commit and understand what your project’s benefit is to the community and how you’re going to convince people to donate. Beyond the difficulties of making the pitch, the real difficulties for our team were also in the logistics of printing and shipping multiple products. It took months of work and a dedicated assistant to get through the project. I want to stress this to potential crowdfunders: Large campaigns are a full time job. It was more responsibility than I ever imagined.”
