Source text - French When I was a child I was told that the man who made time made plenty of it. But whoever told me that was wrong. There is never enough time, never. There is only this time and you mark it and pass it and kill it any way you can. Now, with what time I have left, I want to tell the story of mine time. My time has come, what else would I be doing? I see this story as the gift of my second childhood, a story of death and enchantment, madness and delusion, faint hearts and fair maids; in short, a love story. Given more time it might have been a different story but that is not the point. The point is that like all stories, if it goes long enough, it will end in death. The trick is to avoid spoiling it.
I am twenty years old but I am already an old man. In fact I am a very old man and like all old men I am dying. And though I am dying from any number of things I am dying mainly because I have a bad heart. I would like to be able to say that I was led astray and killed by it but that would not be strictly true. If it wasn't my heart it would have been something else, some other foolishness which did for me.
Nevertheless, a bad heart is a bad heart and no matter how well intentioned it is or whether it is in the right place or not, given time, one way or another, it will kill you.
Translation - English Quand j'étais petit, on m'a dit que l'homme qui avait fait le temps en avait fait beaucoup. Mais peu importe qui m'a dit ça, cette personne avait tort. Il n'y a jamais assez de temps, jamais. Il n'y a que ce temps, et on le marque et on le passe et on le tue du mieux qu'on peut. A présent, avec le peu de temps qu'il me reste, je veux raconter l'histoire de mon temps. Mon temps est venu, que pourrais-je bien faire d'autre ? Je vois cette histoire comme le cadeau de ma seconde enfance, une histoire de mort et d'enchantement, de folie et d'illusion, des cœurs qui s'évanouissent et des jolies demoiselles ; bref, une histoire d'amour. Avec plus de temps, cela aurait pu être une histoire différente, mais là n'est pas le propos. Le propos est que, comme toute histoire, si elle est assez longue, elle se termine en mort. Le tout est d'éviter de gâcher le suspens.
J'ai vingt ans mais je suis déjà un vieil homme. En fait je suis un très vieil homme et comme tous les hommes vieux, je me meurs. Et bien que je meure d'un certain nombre de choses je meurs principalement parce que j'ai un mauvais cœur. J'aimerais pouvoir dire que j'ai été égaré et que cela m'a tué mais cela ne serait pas l’exacte vérité. Si cela n'avait été mon cœur, il y aurait eu quelque chose d'autre, quelque autre bêtise qui aurait eu raison de moi.
Quoi qu'il en soit, un mauvais cœur est un mauvais cœur, et peu importe qu'il soit bien intentionné ou qu'il soit ou non à la bonne place, avec du temps, il finit par vous tuer d'une façon ou d'une autre.

What does it mean to be a complete leader? The truth is, there is no such thing. Rather, a “complete leader” is always in the pursuit of completeness. In many ways, a more accurate term would be “incomplete leader,” to describe someone who is always expanding his skills and knowledge. As Earl Nightingale said, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal.” He went on to explain that as long as you understand where you are going and you are moving in that direction, you are successful already. Once you achieve your goal, if you do not have another worthy goal or ideal, you cease to be successful. What matters is the process and the journey. The greatest leaders are always striving for more—always working to improve themselves and reach higher. They place importance not just on where they are but also where they have been and where they are going.
Becoming a complete leader is an aspirational vision. Nobody ever crosses the finish line. That is part of the joy—being inspired and compelled and reaching toward completeness. Ultimately, once you have run your leg of the race, you get to pass the baton on to someone else.

Il explique ensuite que tant que vous comprenez où vous allez et que vous vous déplacez dans cette direction, vous êtes déjà en situation de réussite.
