I am a Spanish-English translator whose specialism is legal documents. I have translated professionally since February 2014, hold an MA in Translation from the University of Bristol, am a Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), am an ATA member and, in line with my MITI status, I constantly pursue continuing professional development (including legal training intended for paralegals on both sides of the Atlantic) in order to ensure the continuous improvement that all translation professionals should seek.

Some document types I have worked with are contracts, court judgments, administrative rulings, documents for business entities, statutes and regulations, personal documents such as birth certificates and certificates of no criminal record, declarations, wills, inter alia. My experience has taken me through the legal systems of many Spanish-speaking countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Spain. I have worked with both agencies and direct clients (including US law firms), and I have always made sure in either case to guarantee prompt and clear communication to achieve the required results.

In me, you will find a meticulous but efficient translator who applies a comparative-law perspective to produce natural and accurate translations, always taking account of any differences in terminology among the various jurisdictions where my languages in my pair are used. Furthermore, as I have implied above by mentioning my trans-Atlantic paralegal training, I can adapt my legal language both to England and Wales and to the United States, which makes the linguistic solutions I provide highly versatile.
