Source text - English No answer. The watchman sees nothing, but through the roar of the wind and the trees distinctly hears someone walking along the avenue ahead of him. A March night, cloudy and foggy, envelopes the earth, and it seems to the watchman that the earth, the sky, and he himself with his thoughts are all merged together into something vast and impenetrably black. He can only grope his way.
"Who goes there?" the watchman repeats, and he begins to fancy that he hears whispering and smothered laughter. "Who's there?"
"It's I, friend . . ." answers an old man's voice. "But who are you?"
"I . . . a traveller."
"What sort of traveller?" the watchman cries angrily, trying to disguise his terror by shouting. "What the devil do you want here? You go prowling about the graveyard at night, you ruffian!"
"You don't say it's a graveyard here?"
"Why, what else? Of course it's the graveyard! Don't you see it is?"
"O-o-oh . . . Queen of Heaven!" there is a sound of an old man sighing. "I see nothing, my good soul, nothing. Oh the darkness, the darkness! You can't see your hand before your face, it is dark, friend. O-o-oh. . ."
"But who are you?"
"I am a pilgrim, friend, a wandering man."
Translation - Portuguese Nenhuma resposta.
‒ O-o-oh… Minha Nossa Senhora! ‒ o velho suspira. ‒ Eu não vejo nada, meu bom homem, nada. Oh, a escuridão, a escuridão! Você não consegue enxergar um palmo à frente do seu rosto, está escuro, meu amigo. O-o-oh…
‒ Mas quem é você?
‒ Eu sou um peregrino, meu amigo, um homem errante.

Bio
Hello, nice to e-meet you!
I am Paula, I am 31 years old, and I am an EN/RU>PTBR translator. I am a Brazilian Portuguese native speaker, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I started my Translation career back in 2014, taking small projects on freelance platforms and translating articles for the website "eHow". Back then, I had a regular job as well, so I could only work as a part-time translator. But this changed in 2020, I got my specialization in English Translation, and Translation became my main occupation. I also have a degree in International Relations.
During these years, I had the opportunity to translate for several fields, such as: Tourism, DIY, History, Technology, Medical, Legal, Gaming, and I also had experiences with website/app localization and subtitling. I love translation, and I am a curious person, who is always trying to learn something and expand my horizons, so it's most likely you will find me studying or attending some course or lecture on translation topics (most of the time).
Besides International Relations (and related areas), my other fields include: Language Learning, Gaming, IT, and Business/HR. I also offer subtitling services I acquired knowledge of these fields either by education, working experience (both in Translation and outside of it, I used to work in administrative jobs before becoming a full-time translator), and personal interest.
When I am not translating, I like to watch movies and tv series (and to "study" their subtitles!), to play games, do some coloring in my coloring books or try to draw pastel landscapes, study languages (I love languages!), posting content on my YouTube channel (about languages), to read, to cook, and to know more about several topics.
I hope you liked what you have read, and I would be happy to collaborate with you any day!
See you soon,
Paula.
