The temperatures in the summertime can reach 50 degrees Celsius in the shade, while in the winter months the cold is so severe it can freeze almost anything. Wherever you look there is sand, and the desert seems to go on forever.
The Sahrawi people found refuge in the area of Tindouf in the Hamada desert, one of the most inhospitable regions on the planet, located west of Algeria on the border of Morroco, Mauritius, and Western Sahara.
Around 200,000 people live in the four camps or districts (wilayas) known as: Smara, Awserd, Dakhla and Laayoune.
Between each camp there is a distance of 20 to 60 km, except for Dakhla which lies some 200 km away.
Each wilaya is divided into villages (daïras) with smaller groups of inhabitants.
In turn, each daïra is divided into 4 neighbourhoods.
The daïras and wilayas are named after the municipalities of the occupied lands.
Here within the Sahrawi refugee camps, a government in exile has been set up.
The majority of the population live on camp-sites, in makeshift tents or in some limited adobe constructions, without access to potable water, and with a total lack of basic necessities for their livelihood.
They have assigned a designated and responsible individual in each neighbourhood and camp-site, to respond to and organize the day to day activities within the community.
The administrative capital of Rabouni is where the protocol services, services of the Presidency and ministries, as well as other administrative services can be found.
Every adult living on the camp-sites is obligated to participate in a committee.
There are 5 committees: Health, Education, Supplies, Economic Development, and Justice and Social Affairs.
The women in the daïras are responsible for organization processes and the committees, due to the fact that the men must be either serving in the military, or studying.
French to English: Le thème des valeurs General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Business/Commerce (general)
Translation - English To have and to be
The strongest businesses, and those that best face and overcome the current economic crisis, have nearly all defined the values on which their identity is based. But having these values is not enough; each member has to embody them, live by them, and express them everyday.
1 All businesses have values
In the business world, there is growing interest in the topic of values. A business is not just an economic reality reduced only to its figures: sales, margins, accounts and results. It is first of all a group of women and men, spending an important part of their life at their job, brought together for a common goal: the success of the business.
Every business, like every individual, has their code of conduct, language, benchmarks, cultural references, story, and identity. And all businesses have values.
In approaching their values, companies are seeking to ensure that all of their activities make “sense”, as they are all on the same track!
3 Saying what they are…
The development of company values began in 2008. All levels and all eight professional categories (Administration, Handling, Logistics, Management, Assembly, Food Production, Quality, and Customer Relations) contributed to this process. XXX gradually let their values emerge, measuring their effect on the company’s various audiences, and auditing management to ensure the values were aligned with their objectives. Today these values exist. There are a total of 6: Diversity, Reliability, Innovation, Performance, Enjoyment and Responsibility. Inseparable and complementary, these values must now be geared to serving the four strategic priorities of the business. They will also accompany us and form part of our actions related to the Modernité project.

Experience
Years of experience: 9. Registered at ProZ.com: Oct 2015.
Translation is much more than just substituting words; it is about translating ideas so that the final product is not only faithful to the original in both concept and style, but is also adapted to the culture of the target audience. Computer programs cannot ascertain if a word or expression though grammatically correct, is hopelessly out of context. Human translators however, especially those who work into their native languages, can elegantly determine what is both culturally and linguistically sound.
Apart from translating, I am an excellent in person communicator because I am approachable and eager to make those around me feel at ease 100% of the time. I have been a professional freelance translator for just under a year, and I have over five years experience in interpreting (consecutive and sight translation).
I have spent the last 5 years in a career in aviation where I was blessed to be able to travel extensively and make connections all over the world. Language and culture are passions of mine as I myself am a cultural blend; I am Peruvian born and Canadian raised, and I am completely bilingual in English and Spanish. I have spent years living and studying in both of my target language countries.
I hope to apply my language and communication skills in part to organizations that either directly or indirectly promote self-awareness and self-reliance, betterment of interpersonal relationships, or offer positive encouragement to individuals from any walk of life who seek it.
