3.1 Determine Patient Status.
3.1.1 Using the descriptions in 2.2 and the state transitions allowed in 2.3, determine the appropriate change of status required for the patient (if any).
3.1.2 To determine if the patient has met their health goals, please refer to the Work Instruction “Assess Glycaemic Control”.
3.2 Update the Status attribute.
3.2.1 Open the list of Relationships or scroll to the Program Status Update section of the TTP Review screen.
3.2.2 Choose the relationship for the Program.
3.2.3 Update the status as appropriate.
3.2.4 Set the Reason for the status if necessary.
3.2.5 Click Back to save and exit or click Complete to complete the TTP Review.

Qu’est ce que l’acromégalie ?
Cette maladie est liée à une sécrétion anormalement excessive, permanente d’hormone de croissance par l’hypophyse.
L’hypophyse est une glande de très petite taille localisée sous le cerveau, derrière les yeux, dans une loge osseuse appelée « selle turcique »
L’hypophyse joue un rôle majeur dans la régulation des hormones* de tout l’organisme.
Qu’entend-on par hormone de croissance ?
Les hormones sont des substances chimiques sécrétées puis versées dans le sang par des glandes. L’hormone de croissance (ou GH, pour Growth Hormone) est produite par l’hypophyse.
L’hormone de croissance joue un rôle important, non seulement pour la croissance normale chez l’enfant, mais aussi pour le maintien des fonctions métaboliques* chez l’adulte.
Comment évolue l’acromégalie ?
Il s’agit d’une maladie rare à évolution lente.
Le nombre de nouveaux cas par an de cette maladie est estimé à 3 à 4 cas par million d’habitants.
La prévalence* est estimée à 40 à 70 cas par million d’habitants 1.
(Soit de 2500 à 4500 personnes en France). Des publications récentes estiment que ce chiffre pourrait être sous-estimé car il est difficile de poser un diagnostic.
L’évolution lente et insidieuse de la maladie rend le diagnostic difficile et souvent fortuit. Il est difficile de détecter les patients atteints d’acromégalie, car ces personnes viennent rarement consulter du fait que leur apparence a évolué et que leurs os ou leurs tissus ont augmenté de volume.
L’acromégalie est retrouvée en proportions égales chez les hommes et les femmes1.
Son diagnostic est fait, en moyenne, entre 40 et 45 ans1, mais l’âge d’apparition de la maladie, difficile à préciser, remonte souvent a plusieurs années avant le diagnostic.

يعود المرض إلى إفراز مفرط و مستمر و بشكل غير طبيعي لهرمون النمو من قبل الغدة النخامية.

ماهو هرمون النمو؟
الهرمونات مواد كيميائية تفرزها الغدد ثم تصبّها في الدم. يفرز هرمون النمو (أو GH "Growth Hormone") من الغدة النخامية.
يلعب هرمون النمو دورا هاما ليس من أجل النمو الطبيعي للأطفال فقط، بل للحفاظ على الوظائف الأيضية عند البالغين.
كيف تتطور العرطلة؟

تظهر سنويا حالات جديدة لهذا المرض بنسبة ثلاث إلى أربع حالات لكل مليون نسمة.
يقدّر مدى انتشار* المرض من 40 إلى 70 حالة كل مليون نسمة (أي من 2500 إلى 4500 حالة في فرنسا)، ومع ذلك اعتبرت بحوث أجريت حديثا أنّ هذه الأعداد قد تكون مقللة للعدد الحقيقي، كون تشخيص المرض صعب.
تطور المرض البطيء والخفي، يجعل الكشف عنه صعبا وغالبا ما يتم صدفة. ويعد الكشف عن المرض صعبا، لأن المصابين بهذا الداء نادرا ما يستشيرون الطبيب بسبب تغير في مظهرهم أو زيادة في حجم عظامهم أو أنسجتهم.
