Bio
I am 55 and have three teenage
children.

·
I lived the first half of my
life in Scotland and have been living in France since 1996.

·
I have a Master of the Arts
degree (MA) from Glasgow University (1990 - 1995) with a specialisation in
French language and literature.

·
Though at different times in my
life I have worked as a waiter, a barman, a draftsman, a builder, an English
teacher, a joiner and a potter, my main skill is in working with the English
language.

·
20 years of experience working as
a French to English translator and English language copy editor.

·
In-depth knowledge of the
international aid sector following 16 years working for an organisation whose
objective is to help aid organisations do their job better.

·
One of the skills I have
strengthened over the years is how to make a text written in English by someone
who is French-mother-tongue sound less ‘French’.

·
Experience in social sciences,
business and the arts.

·
I have done a little audio
transcription work and would like to do more.

·
My main interests are science, green
issues, politics and current affairs, social sciences, geopolitics, culture and
the arts, history, music and, most of all, pottery.

·
I play the ukulele and spend as
much time as possible in my pottery workshop.
