I am a native
Portuguese speaker based in Canada and I specialize in the translation of both
language pairs: English to Portuguese and Portuguese to English.
I started
working as a translator and interpreter in Lisbon, Portugal, where I was born,
raised and educated.
I obtained my
Licentiate’s Degree in Modern Languages and Literature (with majors in English
and German) at the Faculty of the Arts, University of Lisbon, Portugal.
In Canada I
furthered my education and obtained a CILISAT diploma and a CET Core
Interpreter Training Program Diploma, as well as government certification to
work as a freelance contractor for the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada
(IRB), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Citizenship and Immigration
Canada (CIC).
I am a member in
good standing of the Immigration Interpreters Association (IMINTERA).
I am also a
certified translator (English to Portuguese) and member in good standing of the
Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO), which is a
member association of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters
Council (CTTIC).
My services
are requested by private contractors, translation and interpretation agencies
based in Ontario and by the aforementioned federal government agencies alike.
My areas of
specialization include the translation of vital records, medical, legal,
business, education and immigration documents in both language pairs.
I am ethical
and responsible in everything I do. I pay attention to detail and always finish
my work in a timely manner.
I pride myself
on providing clients with high quality translations in all these areas and
combine dedicated personal service and quick turnaround.
