Bio

My native language is German and I am fluent in English. I hold a bachelor's degree in Japanese Studies and also spent a semester abroad in Japan at 愛知県立大 Aichi Prefectural University.

Field of expertise are video games of different genres. As a translator and proofreader, I was part of various projects (EN/JP ->DE) that used different CAT tools, such as MemoQ, Memsource or Trados.

I also offer the translation of subtitles for videos. I was, for instance, part of a team that subtitled Japanese entertainment videos, but I am also a volunteer TED translator, where the focus lies on scientific topics. I worked in particular with AegiSub and the Amara-Editor.

At my university I worked as an academic assistant in the [j]Games project about Japanese video games and the corresponding companies, led by my professor. Through this work I was able to expand my knowledge of video games related vocabulary. In addition, I polished my German writing skills as a volunteer content creator at a Swiss video games website.

I also hold a bachelor's degree in Horticultural Sciences. In this field I am particularly interested in organic farming and environmentally sustainable agriculture.

If this sounds like a fit for your project, please do not hesitate to send me a message and we can discuss your translation in detail 😊
