Bio
I came upon translating by pure coincidence. I had been working for many years as a counsellor in community services. I changed jobs to a new organization (2012) and was asked to do some translation of correspondence, from French to English. It all started there...I continued to do all the translations for my employer and found that I really enjoyed it. In addition to correspondence, I translated course handbooks, newsletters, marketing materials, etc.
In 2017, I decided to go to university to study part-time in translation. I finished my Master's degree in Translation in spring 2020. I am in the process of becoming certified as a translator with the OTTIAQ. (Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés de Québec)
I have had translation contracts in several domains: community services, human resources, marketing, the government of Canada documents, etc.
I am excited to be starting this new chapter of being a certified translator, especially with the experience I have already accumulated over the years.
I welcome opportunities from many different areas!
