Professional Summary
I have been able to translate hundreds of
documents from English to Swahili and Kinyarwanda and vice-versa. In the course
of these translations, I have felt like mountain climbers who have learnt the
best paths to take in order to reach the peak faster.
I have
developed an extensive glossary that aids us in ensuring consistency. This is
my 11th (eleventh) year in the industry and counting!

Company My Key Responsibilities as a Swahili and Kinyarwanda <>English
and English<> Swahili and Kinyarwanda Translator in Hospitals, Schools,
Conferences, NGO excursions and In-house while at African Translations Company
have been:
1.
Provide transliterating services for patient’s employees, and other individuals
for meetings, interviews, telephone calls, etc. including one to one and group
settings.
2.
Translated orally or in writing all documents presented by patients, staff, and
other individuals.
3.
Participated in special health department related workshops/program activities
as needed.
4.
Utilize equipment such as computers, word processors, and copy machines; fax
machines, typewriters, etc.
5.
Prepare written translations of short stories and books instructional and
educational materials, correspondence, and forms from one language to another
when appropriate for use by the patients, staff, and other individuals.
6.
Review translated material for accuracy of meaning, grammar and syntax.
7.
Answer inquiries from patients, community agencies, and individuals and
interpret and explain words and phrases for meaning and appropriateness.

Community, Conference, Personal Assistant and Field Trip Interpreter in the
Swahili and Kinyarwanda languages my role at African Translations Company has
been to deliver, as faithfully as possible, messages transmitted between
persons who do not speak English and/or Swahili and Kinyarwanda in a diverse
range of health, social, economic, humanitarian, professional and community
service settings.
The
role of an interpreter goes much further than simply converting one language
into another.
My role
at African Translations Company has been but not limited to:

Bridging the gap between the cultures of our clients to create a mutual
understanding of facts and what is being communicated between two
parties.

Understanding much more than just a second language - Swahili and Kinyarwanda.
I sought to understand the cultural, economical, and political differences
between the two cultures in order to create seamless communication between
individuals from vastly different cultures.
3.
Effectively communicate with an understanding of the cultural dynamics of my
