I am
a full-time English>Spanish freelance translator with 9+ years of
experience in the field.

I
hold a BA in translation, a Postgraduate Degree in Legal English, a Master's
Degree in Medical Translation, and a Diploma in Medical Translation.

Since
2017, I have been working at Fox & Lapenne, one of the
most prestigious law firms in Uruguay, where I mostly translate biotechnology
patents. The documents received are issued by the World Intellectual
Property Organization, and translations are filed before various offices in
Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, among others.

In my many years as a
translator I have worked in fields that range from oil and gas, solar energy, manuals,
documentaries and book translation. Since 2015, I have also
been working as a sworn translator, translating public documents of diverse
nature which are then submitted to consulates, ministries and various
government agencies.

When
it comes to translation into English, I provide my services to Alianza
Cultural Uruguay-Estados Unidos, translating recommendation letters
and academic documentation for scholarships. I also translate into English
legal documents such as agreements, powers of attorneys, minutes, and much more.

Additionally,
I provide machine translation post-editing services from English into
Spanish since 2018.

I am
part of several organizations in the field of translation, such as the
Association of Translators of Uruguay, Tremédica and Club de los Grandes
Traductores.

And in August 2023 I
obtained my Diploma in AI for translators, an incredible and eye-opening
training!

Furthermore, I
can't leave aside my humanistic side coming from the arts, as I studied Fine
Arts and ceramics, as well as translation courses in literature
for children and young adults. 

In 2023 I translated a book by an
Uruguayan author into English, and in January 2024, it was already on sale in
bookstores. This was, without a doubt, a very enriching experience!

And now, in 2024, I am tutoring a novel translator who is starting in this amazing world of translation; an amazing experience where we get to share our views of this world while I provide my knowledge and suggestions regarding clients, budgeting, professional image, and more.
